DELHI, N.Y. — Hurricane Sandy’s devastation in New York has led Douglas Wanser, a SUNY Delhi Computer Aided Drafting and Design major from South Amboy, to volunteer his talents and aid residents of the Breezy Point and Far Rockaway areas.

Wanser joined other Delhi students majoring in carpentry, electrical, architecture and construction technology and management to provide skilled assistance for the recovery efforts during the college spring break, March 2-9. Wanser was thrilled to help others while putting into practice what he has learned while studying Computer Aided Drafting and Design at SUNY Delhi.

SUNY Delhi’s building technologies students gain experience in a range of real world projects. These projects place an emphasis on the skills and techniques essential in the workforce. Students complete regular assignments on job sites and serve in internships across the country.
