CRANFORD—Each year, The Theater Project, an award-winning professional theater company founded in 1994, invites New Jersey high school students to submit plays to its Young Playwrights Competition. The 2013 award-winning plays—or portions of the plays—will be read by members of The Theater Project on Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m. in the Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Avenue, Cranford.

At the program each winning playwright will receive a savings bond and Honorable Mention playwrights will receive citations and gift certificates. The program is partially sponsored by the Friends of the Cranford Public Library. Admission is free and all are welcome.
