RAHWAY — RWJ Rahway Foundation and the Rose Ball Committee announced that QualCare, Inc. CEO Annette Catino is being inducted into the Order of the Rose and Brian P. Leddy, past chairman of the RWJ Rahway Board of Governors, is being inducted into the Guardians of the Rose.
The honors will be bestowed at the The Rose Ball Rocks to be held on Saturday evening, April 20.
“Get ready to ‘rock’ the decades with music from the Beatles to Bon Jovi to Taylor Swift at The Wilshire Grand in West Orange,” said Rose Ball Chairman Christine Kline, adding that while black tie is optional, your go-go boots, psychedelic shirts or favorite “rocker” attire are all welcome.
Annette Catino, president & CEO of QualCare Alliance Networks, Inc. and Chief Executive Officer of QualCare, Inc., is the 2013 recipient of the Order of the Rose. Catino is a veteran healthcare executive and distinguished entrepreneur with more than 35 years of experience and named to the Top 50 Most Powerful People in Healthcare for the past 3 years. A longtime member of the Governor’s Task Force on Healthcare, Catino is well regarded for her healthcare expertise, and has worked closely with various health associations and state agencies to shape New Jersey’s healthcare industry. A recognized philanthropist, Catino has supported many organizations through the years and in 2009, served as Honorary Chairman of the RWJ Rahway Foundation Golf Classic.
Among her many honors, Catino received the Regent’s Leadership Award from the American College of Health Executives in 2009. She was recognized by NJBIZ as one of the 100 Most Powerful People in Business in New Jersey. She has been selected—three times—as one of New Jersey’s 50 Best Women in Business. Catino also was named by NJBIZ as the 2011 Executive of the Year, and she was recognized by New Jersey Monthly and Own It Ventures in 2011 and 2012 as one of the Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners, and honored in 2012 as a “Good Scout” by the Central New Jersey Boy Scouts of America.
She is the Chairman of the Board of Pure Inventions, Inc., a producer of liquid antioxidants and nutritional supplements. In addition, she is a Board Member of Northfield Bancorp. (NFBK – NASDAQ), Caucus NJ Educational Corporation and serves as a member of the Board of Visitors for Sacred Heart University’s John F. Welch College of Business. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Cancer Institute of New Jersey and the Val Skinner Foundation.
Through Catino’s leadership, QualCare, New Jersey’s largest provider-sponsored managed care company, has exemplified the Order of the Rose for outstanding philanthropic support to RWJ Rahway.
Brian Leddy is the 2013 recipient of the Guardian of the Rose for his dedication, commitment and support of RWJ Rahway. He joined the RWJ Rahway Board of Governors in 2001, and recently served as Chairman from 2009 to 2012. During his tenure on the Board, he has also served as Chair of the Strategic Planning, Finance and Legal Audit Committees. He currently serves as Chair of the Governance Committee.
Leddy has been in the commercial insurance business for many years, having spent close to thirty years with the Meeker Sharkey Financial Group and its successor agencies after merging with Brian P. Leddy Summit Bank in 2000, then Fleet Bank and ultimately Bank of America, from which he retired in 2007. For the past five years he has served as an insurance consultant to the KRA Insurance Agency, Inc. in Springfield, New Jersey.
A true Guardian of the Hospital, Leddy has been instrumental in helping guide the hospital through ongoing healthcare reform resulting in strategic planning to ensure the hospital meets its mission to provide quality and safe healthcare.

“Be a winner in the cash 50/50 raffle and know that you helped your community hospital as well,” said Chairman Kline. Only 1,000 tickets at $50 each will be sold. The ten winners will share 50% of the total amount received for all tickets sold.
Proceeds from the gala will benefit the ICU renovation and refurbishment at RWJ Rahway, to help the hospital fulfill its mission to provide the quality and safe healthcare services our patients need and deserve.
