Perth Amboy Student Begins College Pitching Career

FRANKLIN, Mass. — There are many things the beginning of March signifies at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts. In addition to the all-important academic midterms and Spring Break, Perth Amboy resident Jose Hernandez is also focused on being a leader on the baseball diamond for the Dean College Bulldogs. Hernandez Begins his career for Dean playing pitcher.

The Dean College Bulldogs are coming off a successful 2012 campaign that saw them finish with a 17-13 record. In this the second year under Head Coach Seth Kaplan, the Bulldogs return 4 starters in the field and 2 pitchers on the mound. They welcome in 24 new players to the program.

“We are fortunate to have brought in a large and very talented freshman class. They are still freshman and they are going to make some mistakes, and we made them in the fall, but we have gotten so much better since we all got to campus in September, says Kaplan.

Pitching Coach Nick Carlucci expects a much improved pitching staff, stating,”I am excited about the talent level of the staff; this staff is one that could lead Dean College to where it wants to go.”

“This has been a fun group to be around for the fall and winter. They have worked hard on getting better every day,” stated Coach Kaplan.
