Business Partnership Plans Breakfast With Lawmakers

BRIDGEWATER – The Somerset County Business Partnership, in partnership with the law firm of Norris, McLaughlin, and Marcus, P.A., will present a Somerset County Legislative Breakfast on Friday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The event will take place at the offices of Norris, McLaughlin, and Marcus at 721 US Highway 202/206 in Bridgewater.

Since the implementation of re-districting in 2011, this Legislative Breakfast is the first time that elected representatives from all six Somerset County Legislative Districts have been invited to a single forum to engage in open dialogue with the business community.

Scheduled to attend as of March 13: District 16 – Senator Bateman, Assemblyman Ciattarelli & Assemblywoman Simon; District 17 – Assemblymen Chivukula; District 21 – Senator Kean; District 23 – Senator Doherty, Assemblymen DiMaio and Peterson; District 25 – Senator Bucco, Assemblymen Bucco and Carroll.

Also expected to attend are: District 17 – Senator Smith, and Egan; District 21 –Assemblyman Bramnick and Assemblywoman Munoz; District 22 – Senator Scutari, Assemblyman Green and Assemblywoman Stender.

The breakfast forum will provide an opportunity for open discussion between the expanded legislative delegation and members of the County’s business community. Among issues expected to be under discussion are regulatory and tax issues, job creation, and workforce investment. The goal of the session is to establish positive steps to advance the economic future of Somerset County.

According to Bateman, co-host of the breakfast, “This is a great opportunity for business and government to come together and have a real conversation on our economic future.”
