BASKING RIDGE — Athena Gerasoulis, an eighth grader from Edison, is one of nine Pingry students who won regional art and writing awards in the 2013 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the country’s longest-running, most prestigious scholarship and recognition program for student achievements in the visual and literary arts, now in its 90th year.
Each year, students in Grades 7 to 12 submit over 200,000 entries in 28 categories. All works are grouped based on genre, rather than student age. Gold Keys, Silver Keys, and Honorable Mentions are awarded at the regional level, and Gold Key works are automatically entered into the national judging.
