RAHWAY — On Wednesday, Feb. 27, fourth grade Gifted and Talented students at Roosevelt School in Rahway attended the Union County Mental Marathon. School districts participating in this convocation were Rahway, Kenilworth, Linden, and Westfield. The marathon is composed of five activity stations:Team Logos, Research, Tangrams, Analogies, and Logic.

This convocation was created to:

  • foster cooperation among students from the participating districts
  • stimulate focus upon the critical thinking skills of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation
  • stimulate focus upon the creative thinking skills of fluency, flexibility, elaboration, originality, and risk taking
  • generate good public relations with community and participating districts in the Union County Gifted and Talented Association
