WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) this week met with members of the New Jersey Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, a private non-profit organization of predominantly Black college-educated women dedicated to community service. The sorority was in Washington, D.C. for its 24th annual “Delta Days in the Nation’s Capital” conference. The national sorority is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year. Some of the topics discussed at the meeting included the members’ concerns and proposals to address gun violence, economic issues including upcoming budget negotiations, and the harmful effects of sequestration.
