SOUTH BRUNSWICK –Find out about organic food at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County’s nutrition seminar on Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at the EARTH Center in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park, 42 Riva Ave., South Brunswick. These days many organic products are available but, are they worth the cost and are they what they claim to be? The seminar will answer such question as: Are they nutritionally superior? Can you differentiate organic foods by reading food labels? There will also be discussion about locally grown versus organic food, as well as the sustainability issue. And does home gardening equate to a home run when it comes to eating healthy. The goal is to give attendees information to help them make the right decision for themselves when it comes to purchasing food for their family.

Kanan Thakore, registered dietitian, certified nutrition support clinician and program associate for the Family & Consumer Health Science Department of Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County, will present the seminar.
