RAHWAY — Roosevelt School in Rahway celebrated the NEA’s Read Across America Day on Friday, March 1. The day honors the birthday of Dr. Seuss. All across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participated by bringing together kids, teens, and books. The event is the beginning of a month-long celebration of reading. The Read Across America day encourages teachers, parents and older siblings to pick up a book and read to younger children, and to model good habits by reading themselves and sharing their love of books with others. Rahway High School Drama students (along with the Cat in the Hat) were readers at Roosevelt School.
