Linden High School Alumnus Appointed To Naval Academy Preparatory School

LINDEN —  Jason Gonzalez, a 2011 graduate of Linden High School, has gained an appointment to the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS), at Naval Station Newport, R.I.

During his time at Linden High School, Gonzalez participated in the challenging International Baccalaureate program. He was also a member of the high school’s Marching Band and Concert Band for four years and served as the Executive Officer of the NJROTC Regiment. He also ran both winter and spring track. Gonzalez was a member of the National Honor Society and the German National Honor Society, and he also did a short term exchange in Germany.

Gonzalez joined the United States Navy following his high school graduation. He is currently an Airman serving aboard USS Eisenhower (CVN 69.) Following his successful one year program at NAPS, Gonzalez will attend the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis.
