CLARK — The students in Miss Franko’s Earth Science classes at the Carl H. Kumpf Middle School in Clark have recently been learning about minerals and how they are important to our everyday lives. To explore the topic the students were each assigned a specific mineral and were asked to do some research on that mineral. They had to find out its specific characteristics that they learned all about; luster, streak, hardness, etc. In addition, the students were required to find out some of the important uses and make a poster showing one of those uses. In the picture above Joseph Valente, Mike Fioravante, and Rachel Papa are holding up their creative mineral posters. (Photo courtesy of Clark Public Schools)
