Somerset County Golf Courses Set To Re-Open March 1

BRIDGEWATER — Somerset County golfers will again have a wide choice of regulation courses from which to choose when the Somerset County Park Commission officially opens the 2013 season on Friday, March 1, at 8 a.m. Courses will open providing the snow cover permits plays.

Pro shops at Quail Brook on New Brunswick Road in Franklin Township in Bridgewater and Spooky Brook at Colonial Park in Franklin Township will be open for registration and retail sales. Neshanic Valley on South Branch Road in Neshanic and Green Knoll on Garretson Road in Bridgewater have remained open through the winter. Weather and ground conditions permitting, all courses will be open for play beginning on March 1 at 8 a.m.

The Learning Center and Academy Course at Neshanic Valley will also open for practice and play on March 1 as weather permits.

Warrenbrook on Warrenville Road in Warren will open on Friday, March 29, if weather permits.

All courses will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

County resident ID cards and tee time reservation applications are available at each course. Greens fees at Green Knoll, Spooky Brook, Warrenbrook, and Quail Brook range from $18 for seniors and juniors to $26 Mondays to Thursdays and $24 for seniors and juniors to $30 for adults Friday to Sunday and holidays for Somerset County residents. Non-resident fees are $45 for adults and $35 for seniors and juniors from Monday to Thursday and $50 for adults, seniors, and juniors from Friday to Sunday. Twilight rates will also be in effect. Handcarts and gas carts are available for rental at all courses.

Neshanic Valley rates are $55 Monday to Thursday and $65 Friday to Sunday and holidays. Senior and junior rates are $45 Monday to Thursday and $65 Friday to Sunday. These rates include a gas cart. Non-resident adult rates are $70 from Monday through Thursday and $85 Friday through Sunday. Twilight rates are available at all courses.
