CLARK – Award-winning sibling violinists Ania and Piotr Filochowski will perform at the Polish Cultural Foundation on Friday, March 8, at 8 p.m. The concert will feature, among others, the works of Chopin, Mozart, Wieniawski, Tchikovski, and compositions for two violins.
The Filochowskis have performed many times at the Polish Cultural Foundation, which is located at 177 Broadway in Clark. Their first public performance in the United States was at the Polish Cultural Foundation after they came to this country from Warsaw, Poland to study at the Julliard School of Music in New York.
There will be a meet and greet with the artists after the concert. Coffee, cake and light refreshments will be served.
Piotr (21) and Ania (19) have performed at venues throughout Europe and the United States, including Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York, Jordan Hall in Boston, and Richardson Auditorium at Princeton University. The pair has received instruction from world-renowned violinists, including Itzhak Perlman, Midori, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Pinchas Zukerman and Ruggiero Ricci.
In 2005, they were both accepted at The Juilliard School on full scholarships. Piotr is studying at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and Ania is studying with Professor Pavla Vernikova at the Vianna Conservatory, School of Music.
Admission is $15 for adults. There is no charge for children that are 12 years old and younger, but they must be accompanied by an adult. For tickets, reservations or more information, call the Polish Cultural Foundation at 1-732-382-7197.
