EDISON — Three scholarships – for $500 each – were awarded to students at Middlesex County College by its Alumni Association.
Linnaea Serzan of Old Bridge and Fatima Bahary of Carteret were presented the award for academic excellence. Serzan (left) is president of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and vice president of the Student Government Association, and she is active in other community service organizations on and off campus. Bahary (right) is president of the Muslim Student Association and is also active in Phi Theta Kappa.
Catherine Lordi of Monmouth Junction (not pictured) was awarded the Alumni Association Scholarship, which is given to the dependent of an alumnus who combines academic excellence and community service. Lordi was an intern at Constable Elementary School in Kendall Park, a special education school where she worked with third and fourth grade students. She is the daughter of Patricia Buttitta, a Middlesex County College alumna, Class of 2007.
