RAHWAY – The Rahway High School Indians solidified themselves as one of the New Jersey’s top track teams by finishing a close second at the Group 2 Championships last week at John Bennett Indoor Sports Complex in Toms River.

Emmanuel Atilola established himself as one of the state’s top all-around athletes, taking home the gold in the 55 meter hurdles and finishing second in the high jump, tying his own school record. Sophomore Deshawne Bunion had a big day, earning All-Group 2 honors by finishing third in the 400m, with teammate Kazeem Otun picking up sixth place.

The Indians completed a great day by finishing third in the 4×400 relay. Bunion and Otun teamed up with Thorne Roberts and Harlan Clarke to qualify for the State Meet of Champions.
