CLARK — In Ms. Kelleher’s second grade class at Valley Road School in Clark, students have chosen a non-fiction topic to write about during Writer’s Workshop. Before they write their book, they must research about the topic. As part of their research, they will spend time at the laptop center made in the classroom to take notes about their topics. In this picture, students Timothy Ford and Anastasia Kalinchak are researching about Ireland and the planet, Saturn. Their job is to read through the text and pick out the most important information to create an All-About book. Their All-About book will include nonfiction features such as a table of contents, diagrams, glossary, and important information within their chapters. (Photo courtesy of Clark Public Schools)
