Linden Students Participate In Video Conference With Former First Lady

LINDEN — Students in Mrs. Kefalas’s class at School No. 10 participated in a live video conference broadcast from the George Bush Presidential Library in Texas.

Former First Lady  Barbara Bush read excerpts from the award-winning author Lynn Curlee’s book, “Capital.” Mrs. Bush answered questions asked by students during the video conference and David Ferriero, 10th Archivist of the United States, spoke about our nation’s capital city.

On-stage students served as Reading Buddies, shared the history of Washington, D.C.’s awe-inspiring monuments from “Capital.” Nearly 100 sites participated in the conference from around the United States including places like, Canada, Alaska, and even Africa. The program concluded with patriotic selections sung by The Quartet of Singing Cadets from Texas A&M University.
