MOUNTAINSIDE — Parents looking to feel more effective in dealing with their child’s disruptive behavior, noncompliance, or tantrums may be interested in a seven-week workshop hosted by Children’s Specialized Hospital, 150 New Providence Road, Mountainside.
Psychologist, Shoshana Isenberg, PhD, will lead the workshops, which take place Thursdays at Children’s Specialized Hospital starting Feb. 21 through March 21 from 7–8:30 p.m. There will also be a follow-up session April 4.
Dealing with challenging child behavior can be extremely frustrating and exhausting for a parent. A child’s behavioral issues can have harmful affects on the entire family.
Topics include the following:
- Causes of misbehavior
- Setting limits
- Managing sibling conflicts
- Developing and implementing reward systems
- Parent stress management, self-care and support system
