CLARK –The Pinewood Derby, an annual race held by the Cub Scouts of Pack 145 of Clark, took place on Jan. 26. Scouts and their parent(s) carve a car to be raced, first against their den and then those winners go against each other to see which car is fastest in the pack. Pinewood Derby cars are made from kits containing a wood block, plastic wheels and metal nails for axles. The completed cars race down a multi-lane track powered by gravity. The fastest cars in the pack received a trophy.
