LIVINGSTON – Saint Barnabas Medical Center is now accepting nominations for The Marcia Reinfeld Samuels and Morton Abraham Samuels Fund Award for Excellence in Nursing. An ideal candidate is a nurse who portrays the profession through compassionate patient encounters, innovative project initiatives and overall professional practice.
The Marcia Reinfeld Samuels and Morton Abraham Samuels Fund Award was established in 1985 and is made possible through the generosity of the Samuels and Lobel families. The award was created to show the family members’ appreciation for the excellent nursing care that their husband and father, Morton Samuels, received while a patient at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, and to recognize the importance of nurses to patients and families.
Those who wish to submit a nomination are asked to write it as if it were a letter addressed to the nominee’s family member explaining what makes him or her such a special nurse. Please include your contact information. To be eligible, a nominee must currently be a registered nurse on staff at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. The nomination deadline is March 15. Letters can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to Nursing Awards 2013, Nursing Administration, Saint Barnabas Medical Center, 94 Old Short Hill Road, Livingston, NJ 07039.
