PERTH AMBOY — Alexandra C. Caracitas, DO, board-certified family medicine physician, has joined the Raritan Bay Physicians’ Group, LLC, and will begin seeing patients Friday, Feb. 15, at her new office location in the Medical Pavilion at Perth Amboy, 516 Lawrie Street.
The well-known physician is relocating from South River, where she practiced family medicine since 2007. The office’s proximity to Raritan Bay Medical Center allows her to easily check in on any of her patients admitted to the hospital, known for high-quality outcomes.
Family medicine practitioners are trained in a broad range of disciplines enabling them to diagnose and treat most illnesses and medical conditions for the whole family, including chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes and high blood pressure. Dr. Caracitas completed her residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Kennedy Health System, Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, NJ. In 2000, she received her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford. Dr. Caracitas is especially interested in preventive medicine; helping her patients protect, promote and maintain good health and well-being to prevent disease, chronic illnesses and disability.
Raritan Bay Medical Center established the Raritan Bay Physicians’ Group, LLC, in early 2012 as a for-profit entity providing employment opportunities for local physicians. Longtime Middlesex County, internist and cardiologist Majid K. Khan, MD, and internist Nisheet Prasad, MD, are also part of the group.
