CLARK — Carl H. Kumpf students in Clark are being recognized for their achievements in mathematics class through a newly started program. “Math Stars” was launched in January by 7th grade mathematics teacher, Miss Faro. Every month, students from each mathematics class will be nominated by their teachers to be the “Math Star” for the month. A “Math Star” is a student that possesses various characteristics and is a role model for their peers. The students will be selected for showing a great interest in mathematics, participating frequently in class, striving to improve their grades and exuding an overall positive attitude during math. Each month, those students will have their photo displayed on the new mathematics bulletin board in Kumpf and will receive a certificate of achievement. Students are excited for the new program and are working towards becoming “Math Stars.” In the photo above, Brooke Vaccaro and Megan Barbosa are two of the Math Stars featured on this month’s bulletin board.
