CLARK — Meghan Zampella’s kindergarten class at Valley Road School in Clark completed a unit study on polar bears. Students read a variety of fictional and informational polar bear books. They watched video clips about the Arctic and made a descriptive web about polar bears. Students made life size polar bear paws and compared it to their own foot. To finish the unit, Eric Carle’s book Polar Bear, Polar Bear What Do You Hear? was utilized to work on sequencing and reading skills. Pictured above holding their polar bear paws are Braelyn Prusakowski, Nicole Marrugo, Brooke Tyra, Ava Redfern, and Zachary Belverio.
