The UninvitedEAST BRUNSWICK – Playhouse 22’s next production, The Uninvited, opens next Friday at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center. The show runs Feb. 15 through March 3. All performances are Friday evenings at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.

The Uninvited is the stage version of the 1944 supernatural-mystery film, with the same name, of a haunted house where a murder may or may have taken place 20 years earlier. The film was one of the first dramatic ghost films ever made and was widely popular among fans and critics alike.

The Uninvited was the first serious ghost film, unprecedented at the time. The stage version is as thrilling but in different ways from the original film,” said director Robert Gargiullo. “In a time of productions that rely on spectacle, it is great fun to direct such a wonderful piece of theater that relies so much on the audience’s imagination. I know that it will be entertaining and unnerving to the very last scene.”

The cast features Rachel Elise Green, Bess Allison and Nancy Drumright all of East Brunswick, Amy Brandt of Monroe, Joe Zedeny of East Windsor, Gregory Newton and Deby Brandt both of Jamesburg, Stephanie Long of Parlin, and Michael Pilato and Rupert Ravens, both of North Brunswick.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for seniors and students and are available online at Playhouse22.org, by calling the Box Office at 1-732-254-3939 or at the Box Office window.

Playhouse 22 is East Brunswick’s Community Theater troupe and is located at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center at 721 Cranbury Road.
