CRANFORD – On Feb. 8 and 9, Union County College’s Owl Theater will present, Motherhood Out Loud. Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. each evening in the Roy Smith Theater at the college’s Cranford campus. The play has been described as a joyous, moving, hilarious, and altogether thrilling theatrical production.
Utterly unpredictable, Motherhood Out Loud shatters traditional notions about parenthood, is comedic and celebrates the deeply personal truths that evolve through generations. The entire cast and production team are comprised of students from the college.
The play is directed by Union County College Professor Michael Z Murphy, of the English/Fine Arts/Modern Languages Department. The producer is Rebecca May, Manager of College Life. The students have been rehearsing since last semester, but the final productions were moved to this month due to the interruptions caused by Hurricane Sandy. All of the students have been involved in performing art and some have also been involved in stage productions before coming to Union.
Tickets are $5 per person and will be available at the door. They are free for Union County College students who show a current college ID. The college’s Cranford campus is located at 1033 Springfield Avenue. For direction or more information on Union County College, visit www.ucc.edu.
