EDISON — David Tarver, author, entrepreneur and philanthropist, spoke at Middlesex County College Monday, kicking off Black History Month at the college. The author of a new book, “Proving Ground,” Tarver talked about developing a company that he later sold, sharing with the students in the audience a story of inspiration. He also spoke about his father, who always wanted a career in electronics but was prevented by the racial prejudice at the time.
