METUCHEN — On Monday, Jan. 7, former Metuchen High School student Henry Clements visited Anna Girin’s classes. Clements graduated high school three years ago and took French here for his entire high school career. He just returned from spending a semester in Paris studying at a leading French university for Social Sciences.
Clements spoke to the French 3, 4H and 5H classes. He presented a mini-lesson on how to sound French when you are in France–he introduced words and expressions not commonly taught in class. Students then interviewed him in French and in English about his stay in France. He talked a lot about differences and similarities between the French and American college life. He also made great connections between language and culture in general.
Girin added, “It was fabulous to hear Henry speak French beautifully. All my students were very much inspired by his visit!”
