NEW BRUNSWICK – Award-winning entertainer Liza Minnelli will perform live with a seven-piece band for the State Theatre’s 25th Annual Benefit Gala on Saturday, May 11. Concert tickets range from $37-$127 and go on sale to the general public on Friday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m.
“We are honored to have such a legendary entertainer as Liza Minnelli perform for our 25th anniversary Benefit Gala. It is truly going to be a memorable evening,” said Mark W. Jones, State Theatre President & CEO.
The Gala festivities begin at 5pm at The Heldrich Hotel and the performance will begin at 6 p.m. In addition to the concert, Gala guests will enjoy a reception, dinner with reserved seating, open bar, dancing, and live entertainment. The Benefit Gala, the State Theatre’s biggest annual event, underwrites the State Theatre’s programming and education programs.

The State Theatre Benefit Gala Patron Honorees are Ann. H. Asbaty, State Theatre Trustee and Chief Operating Officer, National Segment, Cigna; and State Theatre Vice-Chairman Efrem B. Dlugacz, Vice President Global Benefits and Health Resources for Johnson & Johnson. Ann and Efrem were State Theatre Gala Co-Chairs for nine years and this year they are being honored for their tremendous support of the arts and the State Theatre. This year’s Leadership Award in the Arts will be presented to The Star-Ledger.
