Linden Wrestlers Do Well At County Tournament

LINDEN — The Linden High School wrestling team competed in the county tournaments this weekend, and several the junior varsity squad took the championship for only the second time in school history.

Leading the way for the junior varsity championship team were Edwin Rodriguez, Antwon Pugh and Lester Dwah, who now has a record of 20-1. A total of nine Linden wrestlers made it to the finals as Ramiro Lopez-Crespo, Tomas Clemente, Masolin Piere, Tymir Hinton, Jay Hernandez and Robert Peak all came in second place. Javier Arrendondo was third.

The varsity team was led by junior Nick Tekula, who was a runner-up for the second straight year. Also placing was sophomore Kahlil Burns, who came in third, while senior captain Daniel Tibere was fourth.
