RAHWAY – Snowflakes became a lesson in compassion and sharing when students in the Blue and Gold Club at Franklin Elementary School in Rahway made and decorated snowflakes to send to Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. The idea, which has been embraced by schools not only around the country, but all over the world, was to send decorated snowflakes to the new school where Sandy Hook students have been relocated. These wonderfully artistic and heartfelt creations were used to decorate the halls of Sandy Hook School at Chalk Hill, as well as other community locations around Newtown.
