Wardlaw-Hartridge Students Named To Regional Choirs

EDISON — Julia Linger of Cranford, a sophomore at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison, and eighth-grader Manasvinee Mayil Vahanan of Edison were selected to perform with Central Jersey Music Educator’s Association (CJMEA) choirs later this month.

On Dec. 8, Linger auditioned for CJMEA Region II Chorus and was selected for the Women’s Choir. The performance will include the Women’s Chorus, Mixed Chorus and Orchestra and will be held at Monroe Middle School on Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. This year’s director of Women’s Chorus is Mr. Patrick Hatchey, a distinguished choral director who teaches choral music at Roxbury High School.

Mayil Vahanan made it into CJMEA Intermediate Choir by placing second in her voice part (Soprano I). She will perform in a concert on March 17 at Monroe High School at 4 p.m.
