CLARK — Guidance counselor Ashley Aligo started a fifth grade girls group last week in the Clark Elementary Schools. The group, named Girls Circle, is open to any 5th grade girl who would like to join. Girls Circle will have weekly sessions over the next few months. Each week, the lessons will focus on different issues pre-teen and teenage girls often face, such as friendships and peer pressure, making decisions, self-awareness, self-esteem, positive body image, and transitioning into the middle school.
“Girls Circle is a great way girls can explore who they are and gain the confidence they need to grow into strong, successful women,” Aligo stated. This group provides a unique opportunity for these girls to have a safe place to discuss important issues and problems they may be already facing, or to talk about any concerns they may have for the future.
