One choice can change many lives... Faith or Fate by John Ruggiero

CLARK — Concluding a lesson on coordinate planes and graphing, students in Krista Chapman’s math class at Carl H. Kumpf School in Clark created an image from ordered pairs. Students were asked to label the x-axis and y-axis of a coordinate plane before beginning the graphing exercise. All ordered pairs used positive x and y values placing all points in the first quadrant. As students found each ordered pair they traced the points creating an image of Snoopy and his house. It was important for students to remember that the x value comes first in ordered pairs and the y value comes second. If a student mixed up the values he or she would be able to find the error from a mistake in the drawing. After completing the graphing exercise students were able to take their image home to color and decorate the graph. In the picture above, Hannah Brogan, Gentiana Lecaj, Tommy Netland, and Brenden Kelly display their graph. (Photo courtesy of Clark Public Schools)
