Obituary: Mary M. Kutcher, former Rahway resident

Mary M. Kutcher, 93, of Danville, Pa., where she had resided since 1958 after moving from Rahway, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at her residence. She was born Jan. 21, 1919 in Jersey City, the daughter of the late Louis A. and Isabelle Shepherd Keuscher.

She graduated from Rahway High School in 1937. She was employed by Prudential Insurance Company in Newark and Merck & Company in Rahway. Mrs. Kutcher was employed as a secretary for the Guidance Counselor at Danville High School for 17 years, retiring in 1978.

Mrs. Kutcher was a member of Grove Presbyterian Church Danville where she served as a Sunday school teacher, a deacon and sang in the choir. She also served on the Missions Board and the Prayer Chain. She served faithfully in the Danville Food Bank and American Red Cross Bloodmobile. She was an avid quilter. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Julius C. Kutcher who passed away Dec. 16, 2009. They were married April 20, 1940. She is survived by one son, Mark D. Kutcher and his wife Terry of Riverside, Pa. and one daughter, Sharman D. Olshan and her husband David of Amherst, N.Y. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Julia, Mary, Vanessa and Aaron and one great-grandson Justin. She was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Keuscher and one sister, Florence I. Chemidlin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at 1 p.m. from Grove Presbyterian Church, 330 Bloom Street, Danville Pa. with the Reverend Dr. Robert J. Andrews officiating. Burial will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge. Friends will be received from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. in the Great Room at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grove Presbyterian Church or Geisinger Hospice 100 Academy Avenue, MC-11 Danville PA 17822. Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street, Danville, Pa.
