[PHOTO] Kumpf Students Collaborate To Solve Word Problems

CLARK — Students in Miss Faro’s 7th grade mathematics classes at the Carl H. Kumpf Middle School in Clark worked together to solve select problems as a group. Students were given a list of multi-step word problems and equations to solve. Each group was only given one white board marker to use to ensure they would work as a team and assigned a grouping of problems that they were responsible for solving. Students used the new classroom tables that provide a spinning whiteboard surface for students to display their work. All groups were required to show all their steps and a check, so that once everyone was finished, all the groups could walk around and correct their answers. The students enjoy working in a group setting and being able to collaborate on the equations.
