CLARK — Students in Ms. Whittemore’s 9th grade English Honors class at the Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark presented their projects to the class for the novel “Peeling the Onion.” To conclude the unit, students worked on projects to artistically connect with the events and themes of the book. Students chose from: creating a music video for the main character Anna, a walking stick to represent Anna’s recovery, an Instagram poster for Anna with each photo representing a chapter, or a poetry match where the student connects two poems or songs with Anna’s struggle while writing their own original poem. Students then presented their projects to the class while explaining the connection between the project and the book. Pictured above, Simmone Sequeirra presents her Instagram poster.
