LINDEN — The American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR) named Linden High School student, Patrycja Suchocka a 2012 Russian Scholar Laureate. She was one of 40 students throughout America receiving this award. Her teacher of Russian, Mrs. Bozena Szulc, nominated Suchocka due to her extraordinary achievements. She is a recipient of two gold medals (NJ Contest of Spoken Russian), as well as one silver medal (National Russian Essay Contest).
Suchocka received a Letter of Commendation and a Certificate of Award from the American Council of Teachers of Russian. Her picture and personal information appeared in the fall newsletter of the ACTR.
In addition, Szulc represents the school as a chairperson of the National Russian Essay Contest on the national and international levels.
