ELIZABETH — Elizabeth, New Jersey A group of 40 people including Trinitas Regional Medical Center employees and their family members, Trinitas volunteers, and generous members of the community celebrated the joys of Christmas and spread Christmas cheer among patients on Dec. 25. Part of the Christmas and holiday activities held at the medical center each year, the carolers visited patients as well as staff members who work on the holiday.
With strong voices and ready smiles, they shared the spirit of the season by singing well-loved carols and songs and giving out delicious cookies.
“It is truly a wonderful celebration that many people enjoy being a part of,” said Lisa Liss, Director of Volunteer Services at Trinitas, who coordinates the effort each year. “Christians and non-Christians alike come together to make this day happy and cheerful for those who are in the hospital on Christmas Day. The spirit of the season is alive in all who share in the Christmas Cookies event. Together they show that bringing cheer to those in need is part of the fabric of every faith.”
