SUMMIT — The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey held its first Paint-a-palooza 2012 fundraiser on Dec. 14. Co-chaired by Board Chair Sue Welch and Trustee Helaine Winer, the evening event included a variety of colorful painting projects in the Art Center’s Main Gallery, a “Keith Haring-ish” project in the Eisenberg Gallery and other art-making activities. Parents, kids and friends all joined in the hands-on painting merriments while enjoying kid-friendly mac and cheese, meatballs and music.

“Andrew and I had a blast,” said Virginia Farnum, a local Summit parent. “It was exactly the type of family fun and art therapy needed on a day like today. If all fundraisers are like this, we are in!”

The event kicks off the Art Center’s year-long anniversary celebration in 2013 of Eight Decades of Excellence. T-shirts from the event will also be on sale all year long at the Art Center. Event proceeds will benefit the Art Center’s education programs, outreach initiatives and exhibitions.

The Art Center greatly acknowledges the support of in-kind sponsors Boylan Bottles, Trap Rock Brewery, David Ellis Events, Patricia A. Bell, Lead Sponsor, Pamela Shipley and all individual supporters.
