CLARK — Ms. Golinowski’s seventh period Money Management Class at the Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark is working in the school media center researching information to complete a project. Each group had a hypothetical $2,000 they saved up to invest for college. They were to research a savings account, a U.S. Treasury Bond, a Certificate of Deposit and a Money Market fund. Students were supposed to compare the rates of each investment along with restrictions, minimum deposit, and how long each investment had to stay in their investment, and if there were any tax advantages to any of these investment options. Students needed to regroup and discuss after their research had been completed the option in which they felt would be the best place to invest the $2,000 for college.
