CLARK — Students in both Miss Wegbreit and Miss Bartolomeo’s Language Arts class at the Carl H. Kumpf Middle School in Clark worked hard on creating advertisements. The students learned different types of marketing terms, such as bandwagon and propaganda. They used their knowledge of dominant image to create their own print advertisements. The students not only used their knowledge about marketing, but used their reading comprehension of the book, “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton, to market their product for the two social classes that the novel is based on. The students will then present their advertisements at a classroom marketing fair.
