ALJ Hockey To Honor Marine Injured In Afghanistan

ROSELLE – The Arthur L. Johnson High School hockey team will honor Clark native Marine Sergeant Michael Brattole on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Warinanco Skate Rink in Roselle.

Brattole is a 2006 ALJ graduate and a former member of its varsity hockey team. He was seriously injured in November 2010 while he was leading a patrol in Afghanistan.

Brattole will be celebrated at the 20th anniversary alumni hockey match by his 2006 Varsity Hockey Team, as well as past and present hockey players, and many members of the community. His varsity number will officially be retired and Brattole will be given his varsity jersey as a memento from his teammates.

There is no admission fee to this event or the public skate and clinic that precedes it at 7:30 p.m. which will be led by the 2012-2013 team and its coaches.

For more information, or to send Sgt. Brattole your good wishes and appreciation for his service on your behalf, contact ALJ Hockey Coach Mike Nudo at
