LINDEN — Linden High School math teacher Nabeel Ahmad reviews math problems like those that will be found on the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA.) The standardized test is used to determine student achievement in reading, writing, and mathematics in March of their junior year. The objectives of the lesson were identifying, creating, and exploring varieties of patterns. Students were exposed to numerical and non-numerical patterns such as arithmetic and geometric sequences, computational patterns, and visual patterns.
