An arrest warrant has been issued for Oscar S. Camacho, 24, who authorities believe is responsible for the crime. He is charged with robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Officers responded to Vikos Party Rentals at 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 to investigate a report of an armed robbery. The owner, 36, told police that a man wearing a blue face mask brandished a large kitchen knife and demanded money from him. The victim resisted and they struggled for control of the knife.

While the victim sustained a laceration to his right hand, he was able to remove the suspect’s mask and he recognized his assailant as a past customer, he told police. The victim struck the suspect in the head with a folding chair, police said, and the suspect fled the store without taking any money.

Police recovered the knife near the robbery site. The Linden Fire Department Ambulance responded and treated the victim’s hand injury.
