CRANFORD – “Good Things Come with Time…Union County College Adult Student Art Exhibition,” will be on display in the Tomasulo Gallery in the MacKay Library on Union’s Cranford campus from Dec. 6 to Jan. 17, 2013. The exhibit includes artwork from the senior adult students enrolled in the Life Center classes taught by Professor Anthony Nicoli and Professor George Hildrew.
Included in this exhibit are works by the following students: Sonia Ash, Phyllis Bernstein, Dolores Chadwick, Robert Fluche, Cecilia Fonseca, Nancy Hay, Gam Lee, Jeannie Lucas, Victor Mankoski, Florence McGlohn, Terry Michalisin, Carol Norman, Ellen Pankuch, Makiko Parsons, Mary Parsons, Jack Quinn, Carolyn Rohal, Arnold Schaffer, Elizabeth Simonelli, Rosanne Snarski, Elizabeth Sturges, Theodosia Tamborlane, James Temple, Sylvia Weidemann, and Beverly Wolf.
The show was curated by guest curator Dawn Delikat. She is the gallery manager of The Pen and Brush, Inc., an international arts organization for women located in Greenwich Village, established in 1894. Her academic background in art history and professional knowledge of the contemporary art world inform her curatorial practices. Delikat has facilitated numerous multidisciplinary international exhibitions with prominent curators and artists, including the late master photographer Roy DeCarava; Edward Sullivan, Dean of Humanities at NYU Institute of Fine Arts; Daile Kaplan, Vice President and Director of Swann Galleries; Stacy Hollander, Director of The American Folk Art Museum; and Jerelle Kraus, former art director of The New York Times. She served recently as a juror for the Northwest Area Arts Council’s 24th National Art Show, “Women’s Works 2011.”
Meet the artists at the opening reception for “Good Things Come with Time…Union County College Adult Student Art Exhibition” on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. in the Tomasulo Gallery, located on the first floor of MacKay Library on the College’s Cranford campus, located at 1033 Springfield Avenue.
Gallery hours are from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Evening hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday. The Gallery will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 22 to Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.
