Clark Residents Are Being Asked About U.S. Gypsum Property

CLARK – Mayor Sal Bonaccorso is asking township residents for their input on what should be done with a 28-acre industrial property that is currently for sale.

From 1947 until 2009, U.S. Gypsum operated a paper manufacturing plant on Raritan Road. The property is currently for sale and one party interested in redeveloping the site has asked the township for a zoning change. The property is currently zoned for light industrial use.

Bonaccorso sent out the survey to see if township residents want housing, commercial retail, office space or commercial retail with office space on the property. The mayor plans to bring the consensus of the citizens to the Township Council and Planning Board to develop an update to Clark’s Master Plan.

Residents may download a copy of the survey at http://www.ourclark.com/wp-content/uploads/Survey.pdf. It must be returned to Town Hall on or before Monday, Dec. 10.
