The Linden DRC will be located at the Gregorio Center, 330 Helen Street and will open on Friday, Nov. 30. The Woodbridge location will open Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Woodbridge Health Center, 2 George Frederick Plaza, Woodbridge.
Additional DRCs are located at Sayreville Senior Center, 423 Main Street and Plainfield Senior Citizen’s Service Center, 400 East Front Street. The DRC at Chisholm School Community Center, 100 S. Springfield Avenue, Springfield is scheduled to close Saturday.
DRCs offer hurricane survivors information on:
- FEMA and state disaster assistance programs.
- SBA low-interest disaster loans and how to complete the application.
- Smart building techniques to reduce future damage.
- Flood insurance.
Anyone who was affected by Hurricane Sandy is encouraged to register with FEMA before visiting a DRC. Individuals can apply for assistance and follow up on previous applications by registering online at DisasterAssistance.gov, or by web-enabled mobile device at m.fema.gov.
