ROSELLE –– The Borough of Roselle will be holding a number of events to celebrate the holiday season, Mayor Jamel C. Holley announced today. As of now, the Mayor, the Borough Council and the Department of Recreation have scheduled two events, but have not ruled out adding more to the borough’s calendar.
The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place at Borough Hall on 210 Chestnut Street on Monday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. Those in attendance will be treated to performances by the Heard AME choir, Beautiful Angel Praise Dancers, Washington School Choir, and spoken word by Naim.
The Mayor and Council will also be caroling and providing small gifts for children. Santa is scheduled to make an appearance with the help of the Roselle Fire Department. He will trade in his sleigh for a Roselle Fire Department truck.
“The holiday spirit in Roselle is up and running,” Holley said. “These events are meant to bring the community together, so we can celebrate the holidays as neighbors, before we celebrate it with our families.”
On Saturday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m., Holley, the Borough Council and the Department of Recreation will host the Winter Wonderland Ice Skating Holiday Event at scenic Warinanco Park.
Refreshments will be served at both events.
