Sandy Shutters South Amboy’s Only Supermarket

SOUTH AMBOY – The city’s only supermarket, a Foodtown owned by Ed Paczkowski’s family for 84 years, will close its doors for the final time today according to a report by CBS New York.

The supermarket was unable to make up losses incurred during the power outage caused by Hurricane Sandy. More than 40 workers are losing their jobs, according to the report.
